So… now that it’s just us… did you know that HPEP has a (leans in close) submissive Special Interest Group?  IKNOWRIGHT. Amazing.

Monday, April 25 is our next meet-up.   We meet in the private room of a moderately-priced restaurant in the Montrose area of Houston.   If you are a non-Dominant person 18 years of age or up, you are welcome to attend!  There is no vetting necessary.  That means you can show up if you’ve never been to anything, ever.  You can show up if you just decided to try this kink thing that Monday at 2 PM!  (if you live close enough to make the drive, and you’re not Dominant). Also, we’ve been asked lately if you have to be owned or otherwise partnered to attend. NO WAY JOSE. Come see us.

We’re a casual, easy-going, fun group.  It’s not an emotional support group, though we’re supportive.  It’s not a complaint group, though we’ll hear them.  It’s not a girl’s group – we’re about 40% non-female.  It’s not a gossip circle. We are a collaborative, positive, informative group with a focus on the bottom-of-the-slash members of our wonderful Houston BDSM Community, and additional secondary focus on brand-new people to our community, looking for a soft place to land.

OUR TOPIC FOR THIS MONTH

VETTING: verb (used with object),  3. to appraise, verify, or check for accuracy, authenticity, validity, etc.:

This month we’re talking about VETTING! What IS appropriate vetting?  When are appropriate times to give a negative opinion of someone?  What constitutes valid reason for “warning” new people about someone?   How can you, yourself, effectively vet someone you’re interested in?

Additionally, we always have open discussion, at which point you can talk about any old thing that is on your mind.  If your issue is something you’re prefer stay anonymous, please feel free to private message one of your awesome group leaders,  Ms-Anns-Babygirl or aide-de-camp, who will happily bring up the topic in a way that cannot be traced to you, ever.  Pinky-swear.

OUR GETTING-TO-KNOW-YOU GAME

Please bring an item, any item, to show to the group, which represents some important part of who YOU are.  Explain to us why this item is so representative of you.

As always, the getting-to-know-you game, and any active participation, is purely voluntary and not required.  You will not be called upon unless you volunteer to speak, at any time during the meeting.

All participators in the getting-to-know-you game will receive a lovely dollar-store prize from the finest dollar store in this fair city. One grand-prize winner, chosen arbitrarily by a discerning non-participator, will get something extra special!!

SOME RULES

• Dominant people are asked not to attend, and will be asked to leave, if they show up.
• Switch individuals are asked to remain in sub mode.
• Pick-ups are strictly forbidden, and inappropriate for this environment.  See someone you like? Get their number, pick them up LATER.
• Family restaurant – no nudity, no fetish clothing.
• Feel free to arrive late, leave early, or slip out for a smoke or a phone call.
• RESPECT the wait staff.  This venue is super-good to us, and they deserve the same in return.
• RESPECT the other participants.  Don’t argue (disagree instead).  We don’t dismiss others’ opinions.  We don’t ridicule.  We don’t belittle. You don’t either.
